In this guide I will tell you what I do for enhancement.
Sockets you should you use:
+agil (red)
+crit (yellow)
+agil and +stam (blue/red)
There are many other gems to use, but these are what I prefer.

Timing: If you do not time your stromstrike ability with your hits will be poorly and half the time be lucky to hit for over 1k, but if you do time your hits with stormstrike its amazing damage (and if windfury hits with it, you should be able to crit cloth of 7k in savage)

Weapon enchant that should be used: Windfury ( http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=58804 )

When to use Maelstrom: Every time you hit you have a chance to gain a buff lowering the cast of certain spells. Ex: lighting bolt, chain lighting, healing abilities. Once you gain 5 stacks it goes down to 0 sec cast. Now what spell to use is pretty obvious in most cases. If you are high on health, use chain lighting or lighting bolt and if you are low on health use Healing Wave. Lesser Healing Wave shouldn't be used if you have 5 stacks of Maelstrom. You should always have plenty if mana to cast Healing wave as well if you use Shamanistic Rage correctly, which is when you mana reaches 40-60%, or half way into a stun (you can use this ability while stunned and it reduces damage, also 1 min CD helps you keep mana up a lot) Also, if you need to heal, or just get a CC off, with the 5 stacks hex is also instant.

Totems to use: This is completely depends on who you are fighting ( http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=58774 ; Mana Spring Totem is the only water totem you can use, seeing as every other water totem abilities don't work.)

Rogue: Air - Windfury
Fire - Start with magma, go to searing
Earth - Earthbind

Warrior: Air - Windfury
Fire - Fire Nova for bust, Searing
Earth - Earthbind

Priest: Air - Grounding
Fire - Searing
Earth - Tremor/Earthbind, get the timing down between the two

Warlock: Air - Grounding
Fire - Searing or Fire resist
Earth - Tremor

Mage: Air - Grounding
Fire - Searing
Earth - Earthbind

Druid (FERAL): Air - Windfury
Fire - Start with magma, go to searing
Earth - Earthbind

Druid (BOOMKIN/TREE): Air - Grounding
Fire - Searing
Earth - Earthbind

Paladin:: Air - Grounding
Fire - Searing
Earth - Earthbind/Strength

Hunter: Air - Grounding/Grace of Air
Fire - Searing/Magma
Earth - Earthbind

Shaman: Air - Grounding
Fire - Searing
Earth - Earthbind

Totem (Equipped): Totem of Splintering; http://www.wowhead.com/?item=40710
Totem of Dueling; http://www.wowhead.com/?item=40322 (I prefer this one b/c it actually procs on every hit/spell cast)

Weapon type you should use (Axe v Mace): If your an Orc: Axes ( http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=20574 you can 5 expertise with axe)
For everyone else it depends on which one you think is cooler!

Enchants: Helm: DO NOT WASTE THE HELM ENCHANT YOU GET ONCE YOU START KEEP IT TILL YOU GAIN RELENTLESS HELM
Shoulders: Greater Inscription of the Axe
Chest: Enchant Chest - Powerful Stats
Cloak: Enchant Cloak - Major Agility or Enchant Cloak - Greater Speed
Bracers: Enchant Bracers - Greater Assault or Enchant Bracers - Expertise
Gloves: Enchant Gloves - Crusher, or Enchant Gloves - Expertise
Legs: Icescale Leg Armor

for a warrior, it would be better to have earthbind down not strength

incorrect. against a warrior your constantly frostshocking and attempting to get as much burst as possible. the AP/crit overweighs the earthbind.

You can't always be using frost shock. You have earth shock to lower attack speed
