Rogue guide Options

I'm starting to write a comprehensive guild on how to improve your skills as a rogue. Now, I'm in no way claiming I'm the best, but throughout the years I've acquired sufficient knowledge on the rogue class, and here is where I will share the knowledge with you fellows.

#1- Gearing
Most people would debate what gear a rogue should wear. Should you choose to wear PVE gear (tier, off pieces) or PVP gear (savage,hateful,deadly,furious)? Before you would consider purchasing the gear most rogues would wear, be sure to KNOW what your gear would best fit for certain situations.

1) You are making a burst dps class, farming in FFA, AV.

2) You are into playing 2v2, 3v3, 5v5.

For situation 1, I would prefer wearing 4/5 Tier (or BIS main pieces) and PVE offpieces. Why? Because your damage, along with the gear bonus, will be higher than when you are wearing PVP gear. Now, I've seen people wearing 2/x for both bonus. That works well also.

For situation 2, I would recommend wearing 4/5 PVP gear, with a BIS helm. For the most part, resilience is very important in arena, where you couldn't count support from your fellow faction allies. PVP off pieces are preferred, although I've seen some people wearing PVE off pieces for ArP bonus.

#2- Gemming

Most people are wondering what kind of Gems would they socket into their gear. Now this goes two ways.

1) Stack +32 AP into all sockets (loses socket bonus)

2) Stack various gems into all sockets (less AP gained than stacking AP gems, but gained color bonus)

Gemming depends on personal styles. Some people prefer certain colored socket bonus, whereas others prefer the maximum AP gain from stacking AP gems. If you are going for color bonus, I would recommend + AP & + stam, + crit & + stam, and +32 AP when there are available red slots available

#3- Spec

Since combat is bugged on this server, and with the recent nerf in Sub spec, 4x/5/2x has become the most popular spec. spec into 4x for the mutilate, 5 for the increased off dagger damage, and 2x for preparation. Here is the most common 41/5/25 spec.

Level 80 Rogue (41/5/25)

Assassination (41 points)

Improved Eviscerate - Rank 3/3
Increases the damage done by your Eviscerate ability by 20%.

Malice - Rank 5/5
Increases your critical strike chance by 5%.

Ruthlessness - Rank 3/3
Gives your melee finishing moves a 60% chance to add a combo point to your target.

Puncturing Wounds - Rank 3/3
Increases the critical strike chance of your Backstab ability by 30%, and the critical strike chance of your Mutilate ability by 15%.

Vigor - Rank 1/1
Increases your maximum Energy by 10.

Lethality - Rank 5/5
Increases the critical strike damage bonus of all combo point-generating abilities that do not require stealth by 30%.

Fleet Footed - Rank 2/2
Reduces the duration of all movement impairing effects by 30% and increases your movement speed by 15%. This does not stack with other movement speed increasing effects.

Cold Blood - Rank 1/1
When activated, increases the critical strike chance of your next offensive ability by 100%.

Quick Recovery - Rank 2/2
All healing effects on you are increased by 20%. In addition, your finishing moves refund 80% of their Energy cost when they fail to hit.

Seal Fate - Rank 5/5
Your critical strikes from abilities that add combo points have a 100% chance to add an additional combo point.

Murder - Rank 2/2
Increases all damage caused against Humanoid, Giant, Beast and Dragonkin targets by 4%.

Deadly Brew - Rank 2/2
When you apply Instant, Wound or Mind-Numbing poison to a target, you have a 100% chance to apply Crippling poison.

Overkill - Rank 1/1
While stealthed, and for 20 seconds after breaking stealth, you regenerate 30% additional energy.

Focused Attacks - Rank 3/3
Your melee critical strikes have a 100% chance to give you 2 energy.

Find Weakness - Rank 2/3
Offensive ability damage increased by 4%.

Mutilate - Rank 1/1
Instantly attacks with both weapons for an additional 181 with each weapon. Damage is increased by 20% against Poisoned targets. Awards 2 combo points.

Combat (5 points)

Dual Wield Specialization - Rank 5/5
Increases the damage done by your offhand weapon by 50%.

Subtlety (25 points)

Relentless Strikes - Rank 5/5
Your finishing moves have a 20% chance per combo point to restore 25 energy.

Master of Deception - Rank 3/3
Reduces the chance enemies have to detect you while in Stealth mode. More effective than Master of Deception (Rank 2).

Opportunity - Rank 2/2
Increases the damage dealt with your Backstab, Mutilate, Garrote and Ambush abilities by 20%.

Dirty Tricks - Rank 2/2
Increases the range of your Blind and Sap abilities by 5 yards and reduces the energy cost of your Blind and Sap abilities by 50%.

Camouflage - Rank 3/3
Increases your speed while stealthed by 15% and reduces the cooldown of your Stealth ability by 6 sec.

Elusiveness - Rank 2/2
Reduces the cooldown of your Vanish and Blind abilities by 60 sec and your Cloak of Shadows ability by 30 sec.

Serrated Blades - Rank 3/3
Causes your attacks to ignore 8 of your target's Armor and increases the damage dealt by your Rupture ability by 30%. The amount of Armor reduced increases with your level.

Heightened Senses - Rank 2/2
Increases your Stealth detection and reduces the chance you are hit by spells and ranged attacks by 4%. More effective than Heightened Senses (Rank 1).

Preparation - Rank 1/1
When activated, this ability immediately finishes the cooldown on your Evasion, Sprint, Vanish, Cold Blood and Shadowstep abilities.

Dirty Deeds - Rank 2/2
Reduces the Energy cost of your Cheap Shot and Garrote abilities by 20. Additionally, your special abilities cause 20% more damage against targets below 35% health.

#4- Glyphs.

Glyphs aren't too important in here. The only Glyphs for 41/5/25 that are worth getting is Glyph of Vigor, and the Glyph of Mutilate. Vigor can be obtained from Halaa, whereas Glyph of Mutilate has to be obtained from the voteshop.

#5- Enchants
