Purified to OPTICAL, *New Raid/BG with no or minimal scripting!!! Options

Hey Optical,

This guy let me make this BG on his site once with no scripting. So Ive done it myself so i know this works.


The idea is simple. Stormwind, like IF blocked on all sides to create an isolated area. Horde/aliance spawn at opposing sides (docks/front gate). In the city I spawned vendors. Nothing special. Then changed the mod id to whatever I wanted creating variety etc. Once I set up storm with with strategic mobs around the entire city, we added just a few bosses in front of the "good vendors" that were left nutral (the reason for going on the raid). Then we just altered the citys factions to agaisnt everyone except for the specific vendors. Example: All spell related gems in mages quarters. Or, all melee related gems at the bottom of the dungons in cathedral.

Next. This we didnt do, but this would take it to the next level. Captains! After u get everything up made and tested and running, you could add captains. 2 captains per team. 1 on attack, 1 on healing. To implament structure (so any noob/problem child doesnt become captain) you make captain only avaliable by RANK (meaning Knight_-Lieutenant etc) This will not only give a power structure to what you've already done, but will provide the server with a base of higher ranked players that are more important due to their potential as a raid captain.

Raid captain: Some ideas. (for only inside SW Raid/BG hybrid)

1. Mod their size - 1.5 the size of a tauren. Looks cool, feels epic.
2. Mod stats - Maybe some extra HP (to be decided) the debate on the stats is up for grabs, but i think having a strong captain makes things interesting.
Why? see reason #3. =)
3 . Healer captain: Their ONLY role is to heal the other players and NOT the other captain. Its the party's job to heal the melee/attack captain.
4. Healer mod: Make them fly. Stormwind is full of rivers. The healers ability to fly is ideal in this situation, and his only job is to heal not to attack.

Some of these ideas might take minmum scripting, and the mods might involve GM help. I don't know how your situation applys to this. But the idea for the BG is solid. And of course theres tons of ways to put a spin on it like, halaa tokens in the bosses (drops) whatever. Theres tons of variables u can add.

Optical, it took me 15 minuates to make this, from scratch myself. It didnt have any of the advanced ideas, but it worked. Its an easy raid idea which can go on indefinatly with zero upkeep.

I have more ideas on this and I would love to help you if you have any intrest in making this. More ideas on this i have!! =) Approach me anytime. Take the idea for your own if u want, I dont mind I just wanna play it.

***Picture this - You in a raid, your running SW mobs and you fight your way to a bridge when on the other side the horde are fighting mobs and your both headed for SI7. Both teams spot each other and both sides finish off the mobs when the two captains charge each other on the bridge. Both healers are flying over the rivers as two huge epic captains face off while both teams volly for control to see who gets to continue into SI7 cuz if u die, u might not get back to te raid if the mobs respawn. EPIC!
